Enjoying the snow at Beeston Hall School

All good things come to those who wait! So says Robin Gainher at Beeston Hall School at West Runton

As I am writing this it’s late October, the sun is shining and the temperature is an unseasonably warm 20 degrees, the thought of the Christmas season seems very distant. However, as you are reading this the festive season will be in full swing and we will all be swept up in the Christmas cheer.

For teachers we are lucky to have two Christmases, one we celebrate and remember with the children before our term ends, and then the real one we spend with our families. Some of the younger children understandably find it difficult not to get excited by the school celebrations only to discover that the real Christmas is still some time away.

For example, our Nativity at Beeston Hall School was on 27 November, which meant we had lots of excited seven and eight-year-olds thinking Christmas must be just round the corner. It was a bit of a disappointment for them when we explained that there was still a month to go and it was still that early they couldn’t even open the first window of their Advent calendar!

So, by now Christmas will be just round the corner, I’m sure it will be well worth the wait!

A very Happy Christmas to you all.
