Christmas markets in Norfolk: 10 of the best

With unusual presents, artisan crafts and local delights in abundance, we look at Norfolk’s fairs and markets that have Christmas gift-buying all wrapped up!
1. Sandringham Christmas Crafts, Food and Gifts
Friday 17th to Sunday 19th November, 10am to 5pm
For a right royal treat head to the Sandringham Christmas Craft Show to browse the charming stalls, watch the many demonstrations and meet the craftsmen at work as they personalise that perfect gift. You’ll find present ideas for everyone among the artists, designers, potters, wood turners, haberdashers, and jewellery exhibitors. For that Christmas hamper, there’s plenty of choice in the food halls, with everything from cheeses, pies and meats, to continental chocolates and more. The show also has a specialist demonstration area where you can watch and chat to people involved in glassblowing, beekeeping, weaving, wood-carving, jewellery-making, quilting and more not to mention an owl display and a chance to meet Santa himself. Friday 24th to Sunday 26th November
Taking place at the town centre market place, the Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre will begin with the opening ceremony at the Minster on Friday at 10am. The fair itself will include over 30 stalls of crafts and food and drink. Entertainment will come in the form of the Norwegian Lardal Kantori choir during the day who will perform a full concert on Saturday 25th (more information here). Free entry
Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd December, 10am to 5pm
Stock up on Christmas decorations, presents and festive cheer at this event at Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale. The fair features more than 120 stalls, including crafts, clothing and gifts along with the shops and cafés at the market which will provide refreshments and further shopping. There will also be delicious treats and nibbles available from various stalls. For unusual stocking fillers, don’t miss the stalls selling gifts from independent and local artisans. Free entry
Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November, hourly entry intervals from 10am to 2pm
Enter the grand Holt Hall on the weekend of 25th and 26th November for a 50 stall Christmas fair. Pass the huge Christmas tree and roaring log fire before browsing a plethora of yuletide clothing, art, decorations, homeware and much more. Outdoor stalls will have hot food to help you warm up such as soup, pizza, crepes and hot drinks too. 5. Norwich Global Village Christmas Market, The Forum, Norwich
Thursday 30th November to Saturday 2nd December, 10am to 5pm
As one of the major creative hubs in the city, The Forum will be hosting the Norwich Global Village Christmas Market again this year. Inside you can expect stalls with beautiful hand crafted gifts and decorations from all over the world. Head outside for mulled wine and festive food to the tune of a brass band and carollers. 6. Christmas Craft Market at Pensthorpe Natural Park
Sunday 26th November, 10am to 4pm
The courtyard at Pensthorpe will be glittering with Christmas lights and bustling with visitors hoping to find that perfect gift or just wanting to check out the festive atmosphere enhanced by carol singers. The Courtyard Café will be serving a menu of festive food alongside afternoon teas. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop too.
7. The Courtyard Festive Fair, Elveden Estate
Saturday 18th to Sunday 19th November, 10am to 5pm
In the courtyard of the grand Elveden Estate, there will be a weekend of Christmas festivities with stalls selling crafts, art and gifts. Local artisans will be selling their fare too with Norfolk food and drink to browse (and try) before taking home for your festive dining table.
8. Indoor Christmas Market, Ormiston Victory Academy, Norwich
Saturday 25th November, 10am to 3pm
There will be an abundance of festive goodies on offer at the Christmas market at Ormiston Victory Academy in Costessey this year. With over 50 stalls selling everything from jewellery, candles and festive gifts to locally made preserves and chutneys and hot food in the café, you’re sure to pick something up. There will be a Santa’s grotto and carol singers to keep the little ones entertained too. Free entry and free parking
9. Hingham Christmas Craft Fair, Lincoln Hall
Sunday 26th November, 10am to 3pm
With the sound of a silver band playing and the scent of festive food in the air, Lincoln Hall in the pretty town of Hingham will be holding another charming Christmas market. With a focus on local makers, there will be lots of high quality homemade gifts, crafts and artisanal food and drink to browse while enjoying the atmosphere and maybe sampling some refreshments too!
Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th December, 10am to 5pm
It’s all about food at the Holkham Festive Food Fair taking place at the stunning Lady Elizabeth Wing on the Holkham Estate. Elevate your Christmas meals with locally made produce from Norfolk producers or find a perfect gift for a foodie loved one.
