Stage 32 of The Tour enters Norfolk on 4 August after the ride from Skegness, a popular seaside resort, with its sandy beaches it became a popular retreat for families with the first ever Butlins opening here in 1938.

A u-shaped route that hugs the banks of the Wash, an indentation on the east coast that separates East Anglia and Lincolnshire, it’s a nature reserve home to an abundance of bird species, on average there are 400,000 birds present at any one time. Riders can indulge in picturesque villages such as Heacham with its endless lavender fields and limestone cliffs in Hunstanton. The village of Burnham Market will end the day in a quaint, relaxing and tasteful setting.

Starting in the North Norfolk Heritage coast on August 5, the Countrywide Great Tour pushes on over the half way mark of its journey. Stage 33 virtually hugs the coastline the entire route travelling past a total of four piers across various holiday destinations such as Sheringham, Cromer, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth with its long and sandy beach. Finishing the day in the small Suffolk town of Southwold with its prominent 125 year old lighthouse, and home to the Adnams brewery.
