Sausage, apple, beer and mustard casserole

2 portions
6 of your favourite sausages
1 large onion
1 small bunch of sage
1 dsp of plain flour
1 tsp Colman’s mustard powder
2 medium Bramley apples
250ml bitter
250ml chicken stock
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 Heat the vegetable oil. Fry the sausage to colour.
2 Slice the onions.
3 Remove the sausages from the pan and place into a casserole dish.
4 Fry the onions in the pan. Soften the onions, don’t be afraid to colour them.
5 Chop the sage.
6 Add to the fried onions.
7 Add the flour and mustard powder. Stir in and cook for 3 minutes on the heat.
9 Peel, core and chop the apples.
10 Add the beer to the onion mix. Bring to the boil.
11 Add the stock and simmer for 5 minutes.
12 Add the chopped apple.
13 Pour the mixture over the sausages. Place in a preheated oven 180c/Gas 4 for 30 minutes.
