The Swan Hotel, Lavenham
Steeped in history, the 15th century half-timbered Swan Hotel lies in the heart of rural Suffolk. Enjoy light afternoon tea beside crackling log fires in inglenook fireplaces and a two AA rosette menu in the beamed and vaulted Gallery Restaurant. The hotels historic Old Bar is a particular talking point, decorated with world war two airmens signatures and memorabilia. If you fancy exploring, the hotel staff can advise on some great country walks on the doorstep, while just a short drive away are two lovely country houses, National Trust property Long Melford Hall and Tudor mansion Kentwell Hall.

The Bell Inn Hotel, Stilton
One of the countrys finest 17th century coach houses, the Bell Inn boasts heaps of old world charm, from its elegant stonework to picturesque courtyard. The Crown at Woodbridge
In the Holt of Suffolk is the Crown at Woodbridge, a stylishly-remodelled coaching inn.
